The American entertainment magazine People named British actor Jonathan Bailey, 37, its ‘2025 Sexiest Man Alive’.

On the night of the 3rd (local time), People released online a photo shoot and interview featuring Bailey.

Bailey, who is from the United Kingdom, rose to fame with the Netflix drama series <Bridgerton>, and last year appeared in the musical film < Wicked>, helping propel its box-office performance.

For his 2023 work in the American drama <Fellow Travelers>(Fellow Travelers), he was nominated for a supporting actor Emmy.

In the film <Jurassic World: A New Beginning>, released in July, he co-starred with Scarlett Johansson. At the time, the two visited Korea together, drawing attention.

Bailey appeared on the talk show ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ the previous night and, about receiving the Sexiest Man Alive title this year, said it was “a once-in-a-lifetime honor.”

In the People interview, Bailey said that after seeing the musical <Oliver!> with his grandmother at age five, he dreamed of becoming an actor. Just two years later, he fulfilled that dream by performing with the prestigious British troupe ‘Royal Shakespeare Company’. He has since steadily built his stage career, and earlier this year he took the lead in <Richard II> in London.

Bailey has publicly stated that he is gay, and he also founded a fund to support sexual minority groups.

Past ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ selections by People include, beginning with Mel Gibson in 1985, actors such as Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Dwayne Johnson, and Pierce Brosnan, as well as sports star David Beckham.
