A task force to verify suspicions that Chang Chun-ha had been assassinated dug up the grave of the late Chang on December 5 to examine the remains in detail to clarify the cause of his death.

Chang Chun-ha, who had been an active member of the Liberation Army and the Provisional Government, took part in pro-democracy movements against dictatorship opposing constitutional amendments, which allowed the president to run for a third term.

He suspiciously died at Yaksabong in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province in August 1975. At the time, the government announced Chang accidentally fell to his death, but suspicions of foul play by a government agency were raised because of the facts that Chang had descended a cliff without any equipment and he had no other external injuries other than to his head despite of his weight, 73 kilograms. In addition, it is difficult to climb a cliff rising at an angle of 75 degrees without any equipment.
