On the 3rd, President Lee stated, “Even to build a country where no one can ever even dream of a coup again, and where no one can threaten the light of popular sovereignty, ‘Just Integration’ is essential.”

In the ‘First Anniversary of the Revolution of Light, Presidential Special Statement to the Nation’ announced that day at the Yongsan presidential office, President Lee said, “The lawlessness that destroyed the constitutional order for private ambition and even plotted war must be held to account,” he said.

President Lee said, “I believe that, just as the past saved the present and the dead helped the living, enabling the Revolution of Light to save the future and help our descendants is the grave, era-defining duty that a people-sovereignty government must undertake,” adding, “Strict punishment of those who took part in the loyalist coup is the beginning.”

Through the statement, President Lee declared, “Together with the great people of Korea who lit the lamp of democracy, we will surely complete the Revolution of Light.”
