Nine-dan Lee Sedol will meet artificial intelligence (AI) again to mark the 10th anniversary of his match against AlphaGo. The venue is the Four Seasons Hotel in Jongno-gu, Seoul, where the historic match unfolded 10 years ago.

According to the agentic AI startup Enhance on the 3rd, on the 9th Lee will hold a global AI campaign together with Enhance at the Ara Hall of the Four Seasons Hotel. Ara Hall is where, in March 2016, he contested the match of the century against AlphaGo, an AI Go program.

On the day of the event, Lee will take the stage, converse with the AI agent of Enhance to sketch out ‘future Go’ on the spot, and also play a match himself. Through this process, viewers will be able to see an AI agent carry out the entire pipelinefrom planning to execution, creation, and operationusing only voice commands.

The event will be broadcast live worldwide. Nvidia, Microsoft (MS), and Anthropic will join as official sponsors.

Enhance organized the event to show that AI, which once faced off against humans with powerful performance, has now evolved into a partner that executes and creates under human leadership. Founded in 2021, Enhance is an AI operating system (OS) solutions company that supplies vertical AI agents specialized for commerce.

Enhance CEO Lee Seung-hyun said, “It is deeply meaningful that, at this place where AI amazed humans 10 years ago, we can now prove that AI has evolved into a partner that supports human intent and maximizes creativity.”

Having announced his retirement in 2019, since last year Lee has been appointed a special professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), where he conducts research combining AI and Go and offers AI-related proposals·special lectures. He also appeared and excelled on the Netflix entertainment program <Devil’s Plan 2> released last year.
