Samsung's latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S26 series, set the highest pre-order record among all S series models.
According to Samsung Electronics on the 6th, domestic pre-orders for the Galaxy S26 series, conducted from the 27th of last month through the previous day, totaled 1.35 million units.
The previous record was the Galaxy S25 series released last year, which sold 1.3 million units over a total of 11 days of pre-orders. The S26 broke that record with just one week of pre-orders.
During this pre-order period, the most popular model was the top-tier S26 Ultra. The Ultra accounted for 70% of S26 sales, the highest share ever for an Ultra model.
The Galaxy S26 series is a multi-AI phone that features three AI models: its own voice assistant Bixby, plus Google Gemini and Perplexity. In particular, the top-tier Ultra includes a privacy display that limits side viewing angles so people nearby cannot see the screen. Due to the recent surge in memory semiconductor prices, the retail price exceeds 2,000,000 KRW for the Ultra 512GB/1TB variants.
Customers who pre-ordered the Galaxy S26 series can receive and activate their devices starting on the 6th. Beginning on the 11th with South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, and India, the series will roll out sequentially to more than 120 countries worldwide.
