On the 6th, President Lee Jae Myung stated that “there must be a very strict and resolute response to anti-social wrongdoing that seeks to take unjust profits by exploiting the hardships facing the community, such as fuel price gouging”.
Presiding over a meeting of senior secretaries at the Blue House that day, President Lee said, “we must mobilize all available policy tools to minimize the impact that the situation in the Middle East may have on key livelihood areas such as finance, energy, and the real economy”.
President Lee stated, “to overcome the waves of crisis surging from outside, efforts to normalize the abnormal elements that exist within our society must be made”, and added, “to that end, we must improve institutions across society to be fair, transparent, and rational, and we must put an end to this abnormal era in which breaking the rules brings gains while following the rules instead brings losses”.
