In Tongyeong, South Gyeongsang Province, a man in his 30s stabbed a woman in her 20s and a man in his 30s with a bladed weapon and, while fleeing, jumped to his death, prompting a police investigation.
According to the Tongyeong Police Station on the 9th, that morning at a house in Tongyeong, a man in his 30s, identified as A, stabbed multiple times with a bladed weapon B, a woman in her 20s who lived there, and her cohabiting partner, C, a man in his 30s, then fled.
At about 3:13 a.m., after receiving a report from B saying “Help me”, the police were dispatched and pursued A, who was fleeing by car.
However, A ignored two police stops and kept fleeing, and at about 5:17 a.m. he jumped from a bridge in Sacheon and died.
B and C, who suffered severe injuries to the abdomen and elsewhere from the stabbing, are in critical condition and were transported to university hospitals in Busan and Jinju for treatment. A is known to be a resident of the Daejeon area.
The police are concentrating investigative resources on determining the relationship with A and the exact motive through forensic analysis of the mobile phones of the victims.
