On March 15, foreign tourists and residents walk near Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul. A BTS comeback concert will be held here on the 21st. Yonhap News.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 16th that, taking the global K-pop group BTS’s comeback concert as an opportunity, it will present a variety of tourism content that visitors can enjoy before and after the show.
First, on the 20th to 21st, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., 15 of Seoul’s signature landmarks, including Sebitseom and Cheonggyecheon, will be lit with scenic lighting to welcome BTS’s comeback, turning the entire city into a massive concert stage.
To help ‘ARMY’, BTS’s fan club, feel Seoul’s charm after the concert, a fountain show themed to BTS music will also run at Banpo Bridge from March 21 to 22. The city explained that this performance-style nightscape content, combining LED lighting, music, and more than 1,000 meters of grand fountain displays, will offer a unique spectacle to citizens and tourists visiting Banpo Hangang Park.
In addition, welcome banners will be attached to street lamps along Sejong-daero, and welcome messages will be displayed on 10 media facades downtown to create a welcoming atmosphere for ‘ARMY’. To ensure Seoul’s hospitality reaches fans from around the world, welcome phrases translated into seven languages (Korean, English, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Thai) will be displayed at major tourist attractions and traditional markets, and tourist information materials will also be provided.
To let people experience Seoul even outside the venue, diverse festivals and events will be held at major locations across the city, including the Han River. From April 6 to 19, about a 500-meter stretch of Cheonggyecheon from Ogan Bridge to Beodeul Bridge will be decorated as the ‘Arirang Light Walk (BTS THE CITY ARIRANG SEOUL Cheonggyecheon Walkway)’, drawing on BTS symbolism.
On the Han River, the ‘2026 Seoul Spring Festival’ announcing the start of the season will take place from April 10 to May 5. Media shows and hands-on programs set on the Han River will be held, and the opening performance of the Han River Drone Light Show will also be staged on April 10.
In the sky, including the tethered gas balloon ‘Seoul Dal’, you can take in a three-dimensional view of a wave of red light spreading across the city from observatories at N Seoul Tower and Lotte World Tower. At Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), from April 6 to 12, a Music Light Show and ‘Every Corner Live’ will run, offering global fans a variety of musical experiences.
Kim Myung-ju, Director General of Tourism and Sports at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, said, “We will support global fans in experiencing Seoul’s diverse charms through a range of culture and tourism content linked to the concert.”
