Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the 13th (local time) expressed full support for U.S. President Donald Trump’s ‘reverse blockade’ measure in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to AFP, at a cabinet meeting that day Netanyahu said, “Because Iran violated the rules of the (Pakistan peace talks), President Trump decided on a maritime blockade,” and added, “We of course support such a resolute stance and continue to cooperate with the United States.”

Netanyahu then said he had received a direct account of the breakdown from U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, who had participated in the ceasefire talks, and argued that Iran was responsible for the collapse of the negotiations. He said, “The U.S. side could not tolerate Iran’s blatant violation of the entry conditions for the talks,” adding, “The original agreement was an immediate ceasefire and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, but Iran did not implement this, and the United States could not accept it.”

Netanyahu also said, “President Trump sees as a core task the removal of all enriched uranium held by Iran and guaranteeing that no further enrichment takes place in Iran for decades to come,” adding, “This is the goal the United States is focused on, and of course it is also a very important issue for us in Israel.”
