U.S. President Donald Trump said on the 7th (local time), “If Iran does not quickly sign an agreement, we will bring them down far more forcefully and violently going forward, just as we subdued Iran once again today.”

After U.S. and Iranian forces exchanged fire in the Strait of Hormuz that day, President Trump wrote on the social network Truth Social, saying, “Three world-class U.S. destroyers passed through the Strait of Hormuz very successfully even while under attack by Iran.”

Trump said, “The three U.S. destroyers suffered no damage, but Iran sustained heavy losses,” claiming, “Iranian forces were completely destroyed, and the numerous small craft deployed to replace its virtually annihilated navy were also completely destroyed and sank quickly and efficiently to the bottom of the sea.”

He continued, “The missiles fired at the U.S. destroyers were easily shot down, and the unmanned aircraft (drones) burned up in the air,” adding, “The drones fell into the sea very beautifully, like butterflies dropping into a grave.”

Trump argued, “A normal country would have allowed U.S. destroyers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, but Iran is not a normal country,” adding, “Iran is a nation led by fanatics, and if given the chance to use nuclear weapons, it would use them without a doubt.”

He added, “But they will never be given such an opportunity,” saying, “The three destroyers will now rejoin the U.S. Navy blockade, a true ‘wall of steel’.”

U.S. Central Command said that day that it struck Iranian military facilities in self-defense in response to attacks by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran claimed that the United States first attacked an Iranian oil tanker heading toward the Strait of Hormuz, violating the ceasefire, and that enemy forces took damage and retreated under Iranian missile attacks.
