A hands-on program is being offered that allows people to directly check the production process of Jeju Samdasoo and walk a pristine forest trail.

On the 11th, the Jeju Province Development Corporation announced that it will operate a special program linking the Jeju Samdasoo plant and a forest trail, ‘Samdasoo Green Road: Walking the Path Made by Water’.

This program is hosted·organized by the Jeju Development Corporation, with cooperation from the Jeju World Natural Heritage Headquarters, the Jeju Geopark Guides Association, and Gyorae Samdasoo Village. It is an experiential education·tourism program that combines the Jeju Samdasoo Promotion Center and smart factory with the Samdasoo Forest Trail.

The program is divided for adults and teenagers and will run in a total of five sessions. The adult program, held twice on the 22nd and on June 9, focuses on ‘Healing in Nature’. The main components are a tour of the Samdasoo plant, singing bowl meditation, aromatherapy, and making ‘Chomhang’, a traditional Jeju water jar, as part of wellness activities.

From July to September, an educational program for school-based teenagers will continue. It consists of experiential activities that combine the Jeju environment and culture, such as a Samdasoo tour, a Water Journey mission, creating rescue supplies using empty Samdasoo bottles, and building Jeju stone walls.

Applications for the adult program will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis for 30 people per session via the QR code on the poster until the 18th. The youth program will proceed through group registration after notices are sent to schools in the province by the Office of Education.

A Jeju Development Corporation official said, “Through ‘Samdasoo Green Road’, this journey is designed so that participants can directly see how Jeju Samdasoo is created and fully feel the clear nature of Jeju,” adding, “We hope many people will take part and experience the value of water and the healing that nature provides.”
