To bring new hope and vitality to rural communities, the NongHyup Central Federation held the ‘Nongsim Cheonsim National Participation Corps Inauguration Ceremony’ on the 12th. ​

Held at NongHyup Anseong Farmland in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, the ceremony drew more than 600 participants, including university students from across the country and volunteer groups of NongHyup executives and employees.

The ‘Nongsim Cheonsim National Participation Corps’ is a participatory win-win model in which citizens visit rural sites to share their talents. Students majoring in fire science inspected and replaced fire detectors in aging farmhouses in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, while nursing and physical therapy students measured the basic health status of seniors.

NongHyup Chairman Kang Ho-dong said, “The young energy and talents of youth have breathed new hope and vitality into rural areas struggling with aging and population decline,” adding, “NongHyup will actively support farmers as a reliable partner.”

The ‘Nongsim Cheonsim movement’ is a campaign advanced under the principle “The heart of the farmer is the will of heaven,” aimed at reexamining the public value of agriculture and rural communities and restoring sustainable vitality to the countryside.
