Genesis will open a special exhibition re-examining her life to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe’s birth.
Genesis announced that it will hold ‘Manifesting Marilyn’ at the brand’s multi-purpose cultural space, ‘Genesis House New York’, for two months starting on the 1st of this month.
Genesis said this exhibition was designed to allow visitors to engage directly by projecting Genesis’s story of challenge and innovation, which has set new standards for luxury automobiles, onto Monroe’s life. Monroe is regarded as an innovator who, beyond being an iconic actress of the 20th century, stood up to injustice and supported Black civil rights, working for social justice.
The exhibition space is organized for storytelling and hands-on experiences. Through ‘The Headline Room’, which displays emblematic newspaper articles; ‘Marilyn’s Office’, which covers the narrative of her founding a film production company; and ‘The Vanity’, which brings together glamorous personal items, it highlights her as a self-directed woman.
Executive Vice President Lee Si-hyeok, head of the Genesis Business Division, said, “It is meaningful to re-examine the narrative of her challenges and innovations beyond the image consumed by the public” and added, “Through this exhibition, which has a deep connection with Genesis’s story, we will convey the brand’s values and direction in a more emotional way.”
