On the 3rd, after ballot paper shortages occurred at some polling stations including Songpa-gu, Seoul, People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyeok said, “We must halt the vote count immediately and, as needed, hold a rerun election,” adding, “I will visit the National Election Commission right now to demand that the count be stopped.”
Holding a briefing at the People Power Party headquarters that day, Jang said, “The Seoul election is already a tainted election. A tainted election is invalid.”
Jang said, “Even now, the vote count must be halted immediately until the facts are ascertained,” adding, “Depending on the findings, the Seoul election should be held again.” He said, “The election commission’s explanation for why ballot papers were short is simply unacceptable,” and “Once the count is completed, no facts can be properly determined. The count must be stopped right now.”
