Former managers of TV personality Park Na-rae, who allegedly blackmailed her and demanded a portion of company revenue, have been sent to trial.

On the 6th, the Seoul Western District Prosecutors Office said it had indicted a former manager surnamed Shin while in custody, and indicted another former manager, identified as A, without detention.

They are accused of joint extortion under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Violent Crimes, alleging that Park used company funds privately for a former partner and demanding 10% of 2024 company revenue in exchange for not revealing it. However, they did not actually receive any money, so the crime remained at the attempted stage.

In addition, Shin was also charged with diverting about 44 million won in funds from her company (embezzlement in the course of duty·computer-use fraud).

In December last year, Park filed a complaint with the police, saying they had asserted false facts and demanded a large sum of money in return for silence. The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul, which received the complaint from Park, forwarded the case to the prosecution on the 21st of last month.
