The Joint Chiefs of Staff said it detected a short-range ballistic missile launched toward the East Sea from the area of Wonsan, North Korea, at around 5 p.m. that day.
The JCS said, “We have strengthened surveillance and vigilance in preparation for additional launches by North Korea” and “South Korea, the United States, and Japan are closely sharing information related to ‘North Korean ballistic missiles’ while maintaining a full readiness posture.”
