Police are investigating after a report that “a suspicious man entered and then fled” the female changing room at Caribbean Bay, a water park in Yongin, Gyeonggi.

According to Yongin Dongbu Police Station and Yonhap News on the 6th, at around 4:40 p.m. on the 30th of last month, a report was filed that “there is a suspicious man wearing sunglasses” in the female changing room at Caribbean Bay.

Police arrived at the scene, but the reported individual had already left the area. It remains unknown whether the person who entered the changing room was male, how the person came to enter the female changing room, and what the person did inside.

However, based on witness statements, the reported individual wandered inside the female changing room, was stopped by a Caribbean Bay employee, and suddenly ran off while talking. The person was said to have covered the face with a black cap, a mask, and sunglasses, appeared to be wearing something like a wig, and was dressed in a gray short-sleeved T-shirt and black shorts, with a backpack worn on the front.

The police have been tracking the movements of the individual for a week based on nearby CCTV and witness statements.

A Caribbean Bay representative said, “We are faithfully cooperating with the police investigation,” and added, “We will strengthen safety management so that customers can enjoy themselves more comfortably.”

Caribbean Bay is also the site of an incident in August 2015 in which illegal footage shot inside the female shower room and changing room was distributed. At the time, the illegal footage filmed inside the female shower room and changing room was spread on an adult site, sparking controversy. The perpetrator in that case, Ms. Choi (then 27·female), was found to have received 2 million won from Mr. Kang (then 33), carried out the illegal filming using a miniature camera, and then handed over the videos.
